Frequently Asked Questions
I am ready to sell, what is the first step?
Thank you for your interest in listing your boat with On The Water Boat Sales. Shane will come to your boat for a complementary evaluation and inspection. In order to get top dollar your boat should be clean or detailed and everything should work properly. If your boat needs a detail job or any necessary repairs prior to listing no problem. From 20 years in the business I have all the contacts necessary to get your boat ready for sale and bring you top dollar.
How do you decide on an asking price?
We thoroughly research the current market including a boat book out, checking comps on all boat marketing websites, and what other boats like yours have sold for. Most importantly it is our 20 years of experience in this industry to recommend an asking price to bring you top dollar in a timely manner. My promise is to always look out for your best interest.
Where is my boat advertised for sale?
Your boat will be nationally advertised with the industry leading boat marketing company Boats Group to include listings on Boattrader.com and Boats.com. Also we utilize social media and our website as additional platforms to bring you qualified buyers.
What happens once you have a buyer?
Once we have an interested buyer I handle everything including showing the boat, writing the purchase agreement, negotiating the best final offer from the buyer, taking the buyer on sea trial, meeting the marine surveyor and assisting the buyer with financing. You can sit back, relax, let me get the deal closed, and get you paid.
How much is your commission?
On The Water Boat Sales charges an industry-standard percentage of the sales price. There are no upfront fees and you will be paid your balance by check or wire transfer upon closing on your boat. Please contact us for more information.
